David Brauer-Riekie

Bishop David Brauer-Riekie has been head of the Oregon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America since 2007. Ordained in 1987, Rev. Brauer-Rieke served as pastor at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Milton-Freewater,1987-2005; and Atonement Lutheran, Newport, OR 2005-2007. The Oregon Synod includes more than 45,000 Lutherans who belong to more than 116 congregations and mission sites in the state of Oregon. Rev. Brauer-Rieke graduated from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA, in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In 1982 he earned a master of divinity degree from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminaries (now Luther Seminary), St. Paul, Minnesota.
