Subcommittee Scope and Function

The Agriculture Subcommittee met during 2008 to learn from experts about climate change and agriculture, and develop recommendations for the 2009 legislative session. The subcommittee’s highest priority recommendations are included in the Global Warming Commission’s 2009 Report to the Legislature.

A small group of agricultural, environmental and carbon offset interests has continued meeting during 2009 to evaluate opportunities for voluntary incentives for greenhouse gas reduction measures in agriculture. More information about the group’s activities is available on the Oregon Department of Agriculture’s website.
