The Oregon Legislature established the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute (OCCRI) in 2007 to facilitate research and provide climate change information to Oregon decision-makers. Dr. Philip W. Mote, a national leader in analyzing the impacts of climate change, was appointed director of the institute in March 2009. The institute is operated by the Oregon University System and Dr. Mote is a professor in the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University.
