OSU Extension sponsors climate change lectures in Hillsboro

OSU Extension Service in Washington County is sponsoring a series of free, community programs to help citizens understand climate change issues. They will be held on the first three Tuesday evenings in November. Each session is at 7:00 pm in the Shirley Huffman Auditorium in the Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building, 155 N 1st, Hillsboro.

Nov. 3, Derric Jacobs, Ph.D. Candidate in Environmental Sciences will address “Linking population growth, development and global warming.”

Nov. 10, Karen Shell, Ph.D. from the OSU College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences shares information on “Climate feedbacks in climate models.”

Nov. 17, Jeffrey Shaman, Ph.D. from the OSU College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences will report on his research regarding “Humidity and seasonality of influenza.”
